Pre-Treatment Care
Preparing your skin properly before electrolysis helps optimise treatment effectiveness, improve comfort, and support faster healing.
One Week Prior to Treatment:
Hydrate consistently.
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. While electrolysis targets hair follicles, it also affects surrounding skin cells. Well‑hydrated skin responds better to treatment and heals more efficiently.
Maintain daily hydration — avoid “cramming”, as skin hydration takes time.
Avoid sunburn, which is a form of skin trauma and may require treatment to be postponed.
Allow hair to grow. Do not wax or tweeze the area.
You may cut, shave, or bleach hair up to 4 days prior to treatment; however, some regrowth (approximately 3–4 mm) is necessary for effective treatment.
One Day Prior to Treatment:
Continue to drink plenty of water.
Avoid caffeine and other stimulants, as they can be dehydrating and may increase follicular sensitivity.
Avoid alcohol, which can contribute to dehydration and make treatment more sensitive.
Gently exfoliate the area to be treated.
Avoid UV exposure for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
