Your initial consultation is an important first step in your electrolysis journey and is designed to ensure treatments are safe, appropriate, and tailored to your individual needs.
The consultation takes approximately 20 minutes and includes:
An explanation of how electrolysis works
A discussion of your treatment goals, concerns, and expectations
An assessment of whether you are a suitable candidate for electrolysis
Time for you to ask questions and decide whether you would like to proceed with a personalised treatment plan
The consultation itself is complimentary and is intended to ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and confident before commencing treatment.
Following the consultation, a test treatment is performed to assess your skin’s response to thermolysis and to determine appropriate treatment settings.
This test helps us:
Observe your skin’s healing response
Assess comfort levels
Optimise treatment settings for safety and effectiveness
The test treatment is charged at $40, which covers the cost of sterile, single‑use materials, including probes and electrolysis tweezers.
During your consultation — and prior to commencing any electrolysis treatment — you will be required to complete a consent form and provide a full medical history.
Your medical history is essential for:
Assessing your eligibility for electrolysis
Identifying any contraindications
Developing the safest and most effective treatment plan for you
In some circumstances, you may be required to provide medical clearance from your doctor before proceeding with treatment.
All personal and medical information is treated as strictly confidential by BowerHaus Electrolysis.
It is essential that you notify us of any changes to your medical condition, including:
New diagnoses
Illness or hospitalisation
Changes to medication
Because electrolysis often treats unwanted hair growth influenced by biological or hormonal factors, updated medical information allows us to continue treatment safely and appropriately.
Eligibility for electrolysis is determined through your consultation and medical history review.
Please refer to our Electrolysis Eligibility & Contraindications page for further information on conditions that may affect treatment suitability.
